Urban Regeneration Toolbox

Introduction

Urban Regeneration ToolboxIt isn't easy to get a perspective on the complexity of regeneration in the UK today. Wouldn't it be useful if there was a source, an overview from which you could get a picture of where regeneration has come from, and where it might be going, which explained the participants' points of view and how they saw the process?

The Urban Regeneration Toolbox provides guidance and gives direction to detailed advice and discusses where future solutions might lie.

  • Promote a better understanding between the private and public sectors;
  • Explain how developers see the process;
  • Explore how the public sector can improve its role in regeneraton;
  • Look at the legal aspects of regeneration;
  • Examine where new sources of capital might be found;
  • Develop ideas for a new agenda in regeneration so we ‘get it right’ in future.

Roger Madelin

'In any development there are going to be opponents. If you can reach out and find people who are not the usual suspects you will usually find a large majority of people who are generally supportive, but some of them will still have concerns. It is those people who you really do learn something from.'
