Tom Riordan

Chief Executive, Leeds City Council

The youngest ever Chief Executive of Leeds City Council, Tom drove the Commission that set out in 2012 a new “civic enterprise blueprint” for the Future of Local Government. Since 2010, he has overseen £180million of efficiency savings across the organisation, pioneer status for the city’s health and social care work, transformation of the council’s Children’s Services to the praise of Ofsted with Leeds rated “good” with “outstanding” leadership in 2015. Ever forward-looking, Tom is a member of the UK government’s Smart Cities Forum and a trustee on the Centre for Cities Board.
