Stephen Sproat

Stephen has been active in the fit-out and refurbishment market for over 40 years. In 1984 he purchased Instance Contracts Ltd in a management buyout and turned it into one of the major fit out businesses at the time, he ran Instance till 1991 making the most of the early years of the City Big Bang growth, in 1991 he sold his shares and founded Bellwater which became a major international contractor delivering Data Centres around the world. During this time he founded BW interiors and Spectrum Projects eventually selling these to the management of each of the businesses in 2003. After selling a number of the overseas subsidiaries of Bellwater he closed the UK business and co-founded Paragon Management with Matt Bray in 2005. Paragon has grown into one of the top London Fit out businesses and was acquired by Interserve PLC in 2013, Stephen is now a Divisional director of the London region of Interserve Construction (which incorporates Paragon division) the London Hub is expecting to turnover around £300milloion this year. Stephen has been lucky enough to preside over the exciting and challenging growth and evolution of what we call the ‘London Fit Out Market’
