Group Planning Director, Countryside Properties (UK) Ltd

Mike has extensive experience in planning, development and urban regeneration at a senior level within both public and private sector organisations. As a Chartered Town Planner, with a strong background in place making, master planning and managing large complex projects, he is in his second spell at Countryside where he is now Group Planning Director with responsibility for a team promoting new communities of between 500 and 3500 homes across SE England. Mike also spent over 5 years as Chief Executive at Renaissance Southend Ltd, a NFP Urban Regeneration Company, established by the Government to support the Thames Gateway initiative, where he helped secure £250m investment in infrastructure, public realm and higher education.Earlier in his career he was the Council’s lead on the master planning and delivery of the award winning Great Notley Garden Village at Braintree in Essex, a 2000 new home mixed use community.
