Director, Development Securities
Julian Barwick, a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, has been a Director of Development Securities plc since May 1998. Prior to working with Development Securities, Julian spent two years in private practice with Daniel Smith before joining MEPC in 1978 in its development division. In 1990 he was appointed to the role of Managing Director for the development group and in 1996 he was appointed Investment Manager of its £1.3bn office portfolio. Julian was a property advisor to the Bedford Estates from 1997 to 2003, chaired the Paddington Regeneration Partnership from 2001 to 2003, sat on the board of the British Council of Offices from 1996 to 2006 and in 2005 assumed the role of Non-Executive Director at London & Continental Railways. Julian was educated at Cambridge University, is married with three children and is a member of the Hurlingham Club and Queens Club.
