Jon, is a Chartered Surveyor and has particular expertise in the management and corporate development of residential property businesses in both the public and private sectors.
In 1988 he joined Edward Erdman (now Colliers) as Director of their International Division. He became Chief Executive of Jackson-Stops & Staff’s Property Management and Building surveying businesses in 1992, following their acquisition by Edward Erdman and led a Management buy-out in 1995. In 2005, he was appointed Chief Executive of Retirement Villages Group Ltd and led a programme of rapid growth and expansion. The Group employed more than 800 staff, with over 1,500 residents and an annual turnover of approximately £25 million. In 2011, he was instrumental in the formation of ARCO (The Association of Retirement Village Operators) and became its first Chairman. It now represents more than half of the extra care and assisted living providers in the UK.
